Cholla Wood 15cm
Cholla is a type of cactus that is not actually wood at all, but the skeleton of the cereus. It has a brilliant hideout and is an optimal retreat for all invertebrates. It's free of chemicals and pesticides, and also rich in potassium, calcium, and magnesium. It forms a microbial biofilm over time, so shrimps and crayfish graze the surface for food time and again. Cholla is hollow inside and it sinks rapidly to the ground when placed in water. It can also be planted with ferns or mosses to make it more decorative. Cholla Wood contains tannins that can cause discolouration of the water. To avoid this, please water it for a few days.

Dragon Wood
Dragon Wood has been a recent sensation in the world of Aquascaping. We are honoured to be one of the first in Australia to have received this wood. The structure of the wood is similar to Dragon Stone, However it is a wood and it is an amazing wood to say the least. The Intricate look of the wood makes any aquascaping tanks a sight to behold. Due to the look and feel it is also a heavy sinking wood and will have no issues on sinking into your tank. The wood doesn't expel much tannins and it can be used for a variety of applications. This is the best wood for setting up a shrimp tank, as the woods natural honeycomb feature provides many hides for shrimp and places to attack epiphytes and mosses to. Whether you are looking to add shrimps, tetras, danios or livebearers this piece of wood is for you. Also it is easy for Corydoras and Plecos (However Plecos may nibble on the wood). Koral (Coral) Wood
The Koral Wood that we have are some of the nicest pieces of wood we have had for a long time. The structure of each piece is quite stunning with it's intricate shapes. These wood were originally from China and have made its way in the aquascaping field in 2020 by being more heavier and darker in colour it replaced Gold Vine. The only thing we found with these wood is that it does leech a lot of dark tannins! However, that's really the only issue we have found with this wood. There are more advantages then disadvantages.. such as there are no real build up of biofilm as you do in Gold Vine. Definitely worth a go the next time you do a tank. Quan Wood aka Heavy Sinking Driftwood
We have never seen this wood in Australia before 2022!! We were delighted to be the first store that had these wonderful and exquisite pieces of wood. These were brought to Australia as a substitute for Gold Vine but it consists of a hard wood that doesn't float (unlike Gold Vine) and it is more denser and has heaps of character. The wood originally comes from China and each piece is profoundly unique with it's own individual intricacies and shape. In Nano Tanks Australia we have advised our customers to consider these exquisite pieces as they are profoundly better than what is out there in the Australian Market. The best thing that I noticed with these wood is that it doesn't leech any tannins or very little. This is excellent news for those looking to have that instant effect and don't want to boil your wood. Another factor we have noticed with these wood is that the biofilm that forms for such woods as gold vine doesn't happen and that the look is substantially more natural.
