Hikari Fish Food
Give your fish nutrition backed by decades of specialist fish-keeping experience with Hikari Fish Food.
Hikari is one of the world's best-known aquarium food brands, producing specialised diets for tropical fish, bettas, goldfish, koi, cichlids, bottom dwellers, shrimp and other aquatic species. Rather than relying on a single general-purpose food, the Hikari range includes formulas designed around different feeding behaviours, nutritional requirements and life stages.
At Nano Tanks Australia, we've brought our Hikari range together in one collection so you can easily find the right food for your aquarium.
Why Choose Hikari?
Hikari foods are formulated with carefully selected ingredients and are available in a wide variety of pellet, wafer, stick and freeze-dried formats.
Depending on the formula, the range includes foods designed to support:
-
Healthy growth and body condition
-
Strong, vibrant colouration
-
Daily maintenance and balanced nutrition
-
Species-specific feeding requirements
-
Surface, mid-water and bottom-feeding fish
-
Carnivorous, omnivorous and herbivorous species
-
Cleaner, more controlled aquarium feeding
Find the Right Hikari Food
Different fish need different foods.
For bettas and small carnivorous fish, look for appropriately sized, protein-rich foods that are easy to consume.
For community tropical fish, choose a pellet or micro-pellet suited to the size of the fish in your aquarium.
For corydoras, loaches and other bottom dwellers, sinking foods and wafers help deliver food where these fish naturally feed.
For plecos and algae-grazing species, look for vegetable-rich sinking wafers formulated for grazing fish.
For goldfish and koi, Hikari offers dedicated formulas designed around their particular feeding and nutritional requirements.
NTA Feeding Tip
Don't judge a fish food simply by the size of the packet. Concentrated foods can go a surprisingly long way when they're fed correctly.
Feed small amounts that your livestock can consume readily rather than adding a large amount at once. Overfeeding wastes food, increases organic waste and can negatively affect water quality.
For many aquariums, rotating between several suitable foods can also provide greater dietary variety than relying on one food exclusively.
