We strive in maintaining a healthy stock at all times and we will make every effort to provide the necessary advice to make sure they are kept alive in optimum condition. If you are looking to keep this long term then please let us know so we can advise you accordingly LIVE BLACK WORMS What are Black Worms? Live Black Worms is a species called Lumbriculus variegatus and come from very cool climates in shallow-water marshes, ponds, and swamps, feeding on microorganisms and organic material. Where are Black Worms from? Live Black Worms originated from North America and Europe. However, we get our worms fresh from Victoria. How often do you have Live Black Worms? We get our worms usually on a Tuesday or Wednesday of the week. We usually get around 1-2kg of Live Black Worms. This is why when you purchase our worms they are always fresh What do you mean by 30mL or 1L? Does that include water? When we write 30mL or 1L that is the volume of worms you get. We send our worms with as little water in the bag as possible. The reason why we don’t send it with water is that the water gets dirty very quickly with Ammonia. Where do black worms live? These are harvested from clean water that gets its water from the Victorian Alps Vineyards and other crop-thirsty plants also are grown in the area. How do you keep black worms alive? Black worms need fast-moving water to keep them alive. We recommend that you use a sponge filter for smaller amounts. Larger amounts would require you to use a sump filter. Can you breed black worms? Black worms can breed readily in an aquarium setting. They breed in two ways. The first is asexual where they rub off hard surfaces and ‘break off.’ When they do, the head will grow a tail and the tail a head. The other way they breed is via eggs. However, we have discovered that egg produced by black worms is quite minimal. It should be considered that if you wish to produce live black worms economically you do need readily available water and high-protein food. But ultimately growing black worms is uneconomical for a home hobbyist and we encourage you to consider (to save time) getting it from Nano Tanks. Are black worms harmful to humans? Black worms are not harmful to humans if you touch them. However, if you suffer from dermatitis or other skin conditions it is known that black worms will cause a reaction to your skin. To avoid such contact we advise that you use gloves for this very purpose. Naturally, there are bacteria and other worms, leaf leaches and etc that come with the worms. These are grown naturally with the worms and should not harm humans. As a rule, however, it is advisable that you wash your hands thoroughly with a properly antibacterial agent. How do you send your black worms? When we send these worms, they need to be kept cold with ice. Please be aware of your ambient temperature and that the heat will kill them. We only will send this via Toll Priority/ Australia Post Express Post Service please make sure you select the Live Fish Shipping option

[ALWAYS IN STOCK] Red Cherry Shrimp 1-3cm [NO SHIPPING TO WA OR TAS]
Cherry Shrimp Types & Price Cherry Shrimps RCS Neocaridina davidi is one of the most beautiful and sought after shrimp in the hobby today. They are easy to care for and easy to breed in a freshwater aquarium. These freshwater shrimps also are priced for the beginners market. Red Cherry Shrimp When you get our shrimps they are mostly a B or C class shrimp. This means that they will appear red, however their quality is not as consistent as the highest grade. We do have Bloody Mary and Fire Red Shrimps that come from time to time however these strains are hard to get and there are cost implication that come with them. If you are interested in these premium kinds of shrimps please message us. Blue Cherry Shrimp & Yellow Cherry Shrimp These colour variations are not as popular as red cherry's however they look amazing in their own way. Our particular variant of Blue Cherry Shrimp is called Blue Dreams. Our Yellow Cherry Shrimps can look quite stunning against particular backgrounds. Living Conditions Dwarf Shrimps are adaptable to a wide variety of tank conditions and water parameters. They can withstand temperatures to around 15°C through to 30°C. However they do prefer to be around 22°C to 26°C. The shrimps are also tolerable in a wide array of pH. However they do better when the pH is around 6.5. RCS (Red Cherry Shrimp) is very tolerable to TDS levels however, we recommend you keep your TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) to around 200ppm max. The History of Shrimp in Australia Red Cherry's appeared in Australia in the early 2000s. The price at this time was quite high and the shrimps unfortunately were not very nicely coloured. The price of the shrimps, fortunately, tumbled quickly as people discovered that they were very easy to care for and breed readily. In 2014 they reached around 50 cents (!!) AUD and people started giving up on these shrimps just because they were easy to breed. When we opened in early 2014 we were fortunate to be the first shop to sell these shrimps in bulk and we were proud to be selling them as low as $1 per shrimp (at that time). However, as we fast forward to the present and beyond, the price of these shrimps has increased steadily due to the necessary upkeep requirements for ensuring healthy shrimps for sale. Now, these shrimps are more than a staple in the Aquarium hobby and a great addition to add for those starting out in shrimp keeping and Aquascaping in general. What fish live with red cherry shrimp? There are a lot of fish that live with red cherry shrimp. You should consider keeping it with anything that won’t target the shrimp. The Red Cherry Shrimps make an irresistible target to predation. To keep it safe and as a rule of thumb, don’t keep shrimps with Barbs, Bettas or anything that can predate it. Even if the fish do not eat the shrimp, having planted aquariums allow for a safe place so your cherries are happy. How long do red cherry shrimp live for? Cherry Shrimps live for around 1-2 years. However, remember that when they are born they are born live and you can observe little shrimps in the tank. Most stores will sell shrimps at around 3-6 months. At this stage it is the best and ideal time for them to go to their new homes. Do Cherry shrimps breed easily? Cherry Shrimps breed very easily and to make sure they do breed, I recommend that you put them in with Bristlenose algae eater. The combination of having a Bristlenose and Cherry Shrimps means that they will consistently breed. Only use a sponge filter and do not keep with other fish if you wish for success. If the tank is new and does not contain sufficient algae, algae wafers are fine to use as this is what baby shrimps eat. Females who are carrying the eggs will have a cluster of between 30 and 50 eggs at a time beneath their tails. Properly bred, 10 shrimps can turn into 1000 in 6 months! Do cherry shrimp need a filter? Cherry shrimps do need a filter to live. However, don’t go overboard on the filtration. A simple sponge filter or internal filter will be more than sufficient for it. Do cherry shrimp eat fish poop? Cherry Shrimps don’t generally eat fish poop, however they will eat Bristlenose poo readily. I believe it is due to the wood that Bristlenose Eat that the Red Cherry Shrimps like as well. I do recommend that you also do feed your Cherry Shrimps to make sure that they are always in great form. Do cherry shrimp jump out of tank? Cherry Shrimps do not necessarily jump out of a tank. However if you give them a way.. like a filter wool climbing area or anything rough they will wonder around. When this happens please make sure that you keep your lids secure. How do you know if cherry shrimp are happy? You know that your cherry shrimps are happy because they will swim around readily and scavenge food in your tank. However, once they become still or unresponsive you will have problems. One of the worst you can ever do with shrimps is when you spray an aerosol in the house. Such as a fly spray or anything that will kill bugs. If and when you do this death will be swift! Why do shrimp drop eggs? Sometimes when RCS molt they might drop their eggs. This means that the eggs were not viable or there is a problem with the water conditions. When this happen we recommend you ignore it at first. However, if this occurs frequently we recommend that you get your water tested to make sure that everything is ok. Are red cherry shrimp Hardy? Red Cherry Shrimps are hardy. They can be totally ignored and you don’t need to really worry about them. The old adage with shrimps is that the more you care for them the worst they can get. What plants do cherry shrimp like? Shrimps loves mosses or anything that they can hide and cover themselves in. If you are looking for things like Susswassertang or Java Moss these are the simplest and the best options. Can cherry shrimp live with bettas? Before we answer the question can Cherry Shrimps live with Bettas, we need to clarify the question further and make it more specific. One betta cannot live with one Cherry Shrimp. One will be food and one will be full. However, if you have 1 betta with say 12 shrimps and heaps of cover in the tank they they can live together with no issues. The reason for this is because it is hard for the betta to focus on the one shrimp. Can you eat red cherry shrimp? You can but why would you? A cherry shrimp is such a small size and you will need a lot of it to really make a meal out of them. If you intend to breed for your human consumption, I would strongly advise against it. We do not send shrimps to WA, TAS or NT

[ARRIVED 1-MAY-2025] Otocinclus Arnoldi Great for Shrimp Tanks and Algae Control
OVERVIEW Otocinclus Arnoldi, or as they are also called Otos, Otto Cats and Ottos. They may be the best scavengers for freshwater aquariums! These little guys eat algae but should not be confused with other similar looking fish that we sell such as Chinese Algae Eaters, Siamese Flying Foxes and Siamese Algae Eaters so make sure to check that before making a purchase. Otocinclus Arnoldi is the friendliest and most adorable little fish you could keep in your aquarium. They’re so easy to care for, provide hours of entertainment with their inquisitive nature, and they eat up all that pesky algae before it can grow out of control! HABITAT Otos are native to South America and can be found east of the Andes throughout the lowlands from northern Venezuela to northern Argentina. They spend most of their time in schools, swimming through moderate-to-slow rivers with well-oxygenated water. BUYING HEALTHY OTOS Otos are a great addition to any tank, but they’re very fragile. To make sure you don't lose them before the end of their first year, it's important that you pick out healthy Otos from your local fish store- if possible try and take some advice on what breeds will work best for your aquarium. BEHAVIOR If you keep your Otos properly, they'll show a ton of activity and personality during the day. They're industrious workers that will spend most of their time sucking on rocks, leaves with algae growing or anything else in sight! It doesn’t matter which species of Otocinclus you own, they all require the same water conditions – low stock density and pristine water – depending on your water source, you may want to use an RO system. AQUARIUM There are many reasons why you should consider getting an aquarium. For one, they can be a great avenue for relaxation and stress relief while making your home feel more inviting. Having fish also helps to improve the quality of air in our homes by producing negative ions that combat positive ones (i.e., it freshens up the room). To make sure your tank is healthy and happy, follow these guidelines: - You'll need an aquarium filter capable of cycling at least four times per hour (GPH) and with mature nitrate levels between 0-20ppm - No measurable ammonia or nitrite should be present either. - Otos prefer water with a stable pH that is slightly acidic (6-7.5). - The temperature inside their tanks should average about 72°F - 82°F degrees Fahrenheit (~22 °C ~ 28 °C) which allows them to thrive year-round without sustaining damage from changes in heat level outside. OTOCINCLUS Arnoldi SIZE The Otocinclus Arnoldi is a small fish that can grow to be about 1 ½ - 2 inches when fully mature. These quick and agile swimmers are able to dart from one end of the tank to another in an instant, making them ideal for smaller aquariums or tanks with slower-moving inhabitants. TANK MATES Otocinclus Arnoldi is known for being non-aggressive by nature. But because these tiny fish live in the wild, they have no means to protect themselves. If you choose tank mates wisely, then your Otos will be just fine! Otocinclus Arnoldi may not seem like much to look at with their small size and see-through skin but there is a reason why people keep them as pets; otos are peaceful little creatures that don't bother anybody or anything else in their home aquarium thanks to their lack of aggression which stems from living out on land without any natural predators where it has easy access food sources such as algae off rocks and plants around waterways. FEEDING Algae is the main food for Otos, but many aquariums can't produce enough to sustain them. If this happens in your tank, use algae wafers or Catfish pellets as a supplement. BREEDING Otos are hard to breed because you can't see a difference. But, female Otos tend to be larger and wider than males if you look closely enough for the little details. octocinclus

[ARRIVED 4-JUN-2025] Cardinal Tetra 4-5cm
The Cardinal Tetra is a popular freshwater fish that many people enjoy keeping in their home aquariums. Cardinal tetras will quickly become one of the favourite fish in your aquarium. These tiny, schooling fish are hardy and playful—so much so that they can outsmart even seasoned aquarists! Cardinal tetra is a friendly fish that shares space generously with its tank mate. While they can be hard to breed in captivity, these brightly coloured fish stay active and are available in multiples colours of red, yellow, and orange. Habitat The cardinal tetra is most commonly seen in slow-moving, shallow water. They mainly eat small animals on plants roots and leaf litter but have been known to take live prey as well. The Cardinal Tetra (Paracheirodon axelrodi) is a fish that has been around for centuries. Originating from the rivers in South America, specifically the upper Orinoco and to the Rio Negro River. These little guys are fascinating because they usually only live about 2-3 years due to their small size but have still managed to thrive since then. Colour A Cardinal tetra is not only beautiful, but it's an excellent fish for almost any aquarium. Consider these benefits; they're small and sturdy enough that they can live in a 20-litre tank. They are tolerant of water quality fluctuations and the temperatures found in your home or office environment. Plus, they grow up to just 5cm long, so their accommodations will be easy as pie! And while we know you'll want to buy this beauty some friends once he gets settled in his new digs, don't worry about other types of fish bothering him—he'd rather eat plants than other aquatic life forms! Potential Tank mates for Cardinal Tetras Cardinal tetras are one of the most popular fish species. They should always be kept in large schools and prefer to swim around with others, even if they're not their kind! If you want your tank to have the perfect balance between lively company and a serene environment for some time alone, then these guys will become part of it. Potential tank mates that may be suitable other than tetras are Danios, Rasbora, and Dwarf Gouramis. If the companion fish has a big mouth enough to swallow the cardinal tetra, it is not a suitable tank mate. Cardinal Tetra Care There are a lot of reasons to purchase a larger aquarium. One of the most important is that Cardinal Tetras live better in bigger tanks! These fish can be seen living happily and healthily in tanks with 20 litres, but we always recommend going as big as you possibly can if you wish to enjoy the fish schooling to full effect. Cardinal Tetras are delicate and need mature tanks with soft acidic water to thrive. They can't survive in a tank that's only been set up for an hour, so use caution if you're new! Luckily they love having stable conditions because it lets them live longer lives without getting sick as often. The best pH is below 6, while the hardness should stay below 4 dGH (decigrams per litre) since high levels of minerals make their health deteriorate quickly. Finally, this species loves warmer temperatures but does well from 23°C to 27 °C. We recommend having Floating Plants on their tanks; not only do they moderate the light, but floating aquatic plants also help with CO2 and oxygen levels in the water. Diet and Feeding Cardinal Tetra will eat most foods, but be sure to feed them 75% of high-quality flake food, so they stay healthy! Make sure to provide live foods or frozen snacks for your little guys, including brine shrimp and bloodworms that are high in protein. If you're going to feed them all day, try offering three minutes' worth of food every feeding--their little mouths can't handle large pieces very well. Gender Identification Males and females show few apparent differences between the sexes, with female cardinal tetras having a deeper body than males with an almost round belly. The hook protruding from the male's anal fin tells other prospective mates they are mature enough to breed! Breeding Cardinal Tetras Breeding cardinal tetras is a difficult task. But if you are persistent, success will be within your grasp! The female cardinal tetra produces eggs when she feels the need to reproduce - typically during evenings and late nights from 130-500 eggs. A separate breeding tank with stable water conditions, a pH of 5.0 to 6.0, and very soft water 3-5 dGH or below is essential for success. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS What is the Difference between Neon Tetra and Cardinal Tetra? The most obvious difference between the Cardinal and Neon Tetras is their coloration. While both are beautiful in their own right, it's hard to ignore that for Neons, only half of its body sports a vibrant red stripe while Cardinals have an equally colourful anal fin and gills as well as whole-body stripes. The main differences between these two fish types come down primarily to colouring: one has less than dazzling colours on about 50% of his body (Neon), where the other will stun you with brilliant blues, greens, yellows--even oranges! Of course, some structural distinctions like fins, but we are all more interested in how they look when swimming around our tanks anyway. Can a tetra live without a filter and heater? A tetra can live without a filter yes, a heater not so much. Below 24 degree's C your tetra will not be happy campers, however a regular water change can suffice in lieu of a filter.

[ARRIVED 20-JUN-2025] Java Fern Bunch Small
JAVA FERN: THE BEST PLANT FOR YOUR PLANTED AQUARIUM Java ferns (microsorum pteropus) are perfect for aquariums. They're small, easy to grow, and don't need a lot of light to survive. Ask us for varieties we have available. For example, there are needle leaf varieties that require bright lights, as well as more traditional 'jungle' leaves such as the Narrow Leaf, Lance Leaf, and Windelov – their many varieties to suit your needs inside your aquarium. Your fish will appreciate the natural hiding spots provided by Java Fern so they can get away from time to time and feel safe and secure when they want it. Identification If you want a true aquatic plant that can grow when submerged in water or even partially out, then the Java fern is perfect for your tank. Our diverse line of beautiful and delicate-looking Java plants are perfect for people who prefer an aesthetic look inside their home aqua garden without crazy maintenance requirements. When you require a go-to plant that looks great in almost any aquascapes, go with Java Ferns (from Nano Tanks Australia with our aquascaping expertise, of course!). The narrow-leaf Java fern generally boasts long, skinny leaves, with the plant growing to a height of 10-12 inches (25-30 cm). Java Fern is perfect for those who have limited space or are trying to create an artificial jungle feel in their aquarium. The plants need bright light, but indirect (not right under the light), so they can grow properly. Keep in mind the sun has a much more potent energy than your tiny aquarium lights, so aquarium keepers can tend to underestimate the wattage and spectrum required. Saying that, in nature Aquatic Java Fern tends to never receive direct light in the jungle river. So although the Java Fern will be fine with low light in the tank, its growth rate will not impress you. What You Should Know about Java Fern It's probably better than any other plant that would grow inside an aquatic environment for this reason - its fronds are big enough for fish to swim through them without getting stuck between leaves. A striking addition to any freshwater planted aquarium, perfect if you have cichlids or South American fish. Fortunately, it's also relatively easy for plant-eating goldfish and other tank mates to leave it alone because of its tough rhizomes! Java Fern does well in water with pH levels between 6-7.5, as long as the alkalinity stays below eight dKH (aka carbonate hardness). If you see black spots (or brown spots) in your plant's leaves, don't worry - they do that. Java ferns have veins running through them, and sometimes new bumps will pop up on the leaf from which a new shoot emerges. Planting and Replanting Java Fern in the Aquarium Java ferns grow beautifully with other live plants since they are so robust, but they also make a great centrepiece for the aquarium when planted alone. Alternatively, you can attach java fern to aquarium decorations (like rock or driftwood) to create an elegant look that will not overwhelm your fish tank with too much greenery! Java Fern is a hardy plant that can live in any tank size, making it perfect for apartment dwellers who don't have room for large aquariums! If the water stays clean (and you're not adding liquid fertiliser), this resilient Fern's growth will remain consistent without any problems. The Fern prefers water with soft-to-moderate temperatures of 22 degrees Celsius. Data at a glance for Java Fern Family: Polypodiaceae Care Level: Easy Growth Rate: Low to Moderate Maximum Size: 30cm Minimum Tank Size: 20 Litres (tall tank) Water Conditions: 20-28°C pH 6.0-7.5 KH 3-8 Lighting: Low to Moderate (Depending on the desired rate of growth) Propagation: Adventitious Plantlet/Rhizome Division Placement: Mid to Background

Quan Wood aka Heavy Sinking Driftwood
We have never seen this wood in Australia before 2022!! We were delighted to be the first store that had these wonderful and exquisite pieces of wood. These were brought to Australia as a substitute for Gold Vine but it consists of a hard wood that doesn't float (unlike Gold Vine) and it is more denser and has heaps of character. The wood originally comes from China and each piece is profoundly unique with it's own individual intricacies and shape. In Nano Tanks Australia we have advised our customers to consider these exquisite pieces as they are profoundly better than what is out there in the Australian Market. The best thing that I noticed with these wood is that it doesn't leech any tannins or very little. This is excellent news for those looking to have that instant effect and don't want to boil your wood. Another factor we have noticed with these wood is that the biofilm that forms for such woods as gold vine doesn't happen and that the look is substantially more natural. AVAILABLE NOW: Locally Grown Marimo Moss Balls 1cm
THIS INCLUDES FREE POST SHIPPING. What is a Marimo moss ball Marimo is a type of moss ball that mainly grows in the northern hemisphere. Marimo is its Japanese name; it’s also is known as a Cladophora ball. Like most underwater plants, it photosynthesises, it takes in carbon dioxide and releases oxygen as well as consuming nitrates. The moss balls are nearly indestructible – no amount of nudging from your curious fishes will bring these down! Despite their name, they are in fact not related to moss at all; they are more closely related to algae. The name “Marimo” was coined by the Japanese botanist Takiya Kawakami, a combination of “Mari”, meaning bouncy play ball, and “Mo”, a general term for water plants. The benefits of a marimo ball The Marimo moss ball brings with it a variety of benefits to your aquarium: 1. Aesthetics: First of all, the marimo moss balls look great! Looking right at home with other plants in a home aquarium, and provide a very clean yet natural feel to their environment. Even on their own, moss balls are a nice addition to any themed tank. Our beta fish have always approved the introduction of a moss ball to their home! 2. Reducing Nitrates: Nitrates are produced by fish during the course of their life. The level is usually harmless to them, but this is why it is important to do regular water changes. However, having a Marimo moss ball in the tank can help reduce the number of nitrates at all times. They feed on these nitrates to survive and grow. 3. Phosphates and particulates: The Moss balls not only provide an active defence against nitrate levels but also a passive one. Their spongy texture allows them to act as a filter, removing phosphates and particulates from the tank, which algae would use to feed and grow on things such as aquarium plants, cutting off sunlight or even on the glass walls themselves. 4. Oxygen: Just like humans fish breath oxygen – fish take their oxygen from the water using their gills (A side fact – Did you know betta fish are one of very few fish that can even take oxygen from above the water’s surface – but that’s another blog post). As fish breathe they take (and use up) the oxygen in the water and replace it with carbon dioxide. Well guess what? That’s right marimo moss balls take in this waste carbon dioxide and replace it with oxygen. Your fish will be pleased! 5. They are cheap! 6. Easy! Marimo moss balls are so easy to look after. Once you add them to your tank they require no attention! Marimo Moss Ball Care Taking care of your marimo moss ball is easy! In most cases you add them to your tank and they will then become part of your aquarium’s aesthetics. Providing both style and helping keep your tank water clean. However, if you wish for the healthiest marimo moss ball here are a few tips for you… Light Marimo balls require low to medium levels of indirect light – too much sunlight can cause them to brown. If this begins to happen with your moss ball, the best solution is to simply move the ball into an area of the tank with lower light levels. Water Changes Take the time during water changes to agitate the moss ball slightly or simply place it on another side. This is to make sure it gets an even amount of light all around and also to retain its round shape. Floating Floating is a regular sight for moss balls. Usually, it indicates a trapped air bubble inside, this can be fixed by gently squeezing the ball. Usually floating happens when you first add a marimo moss ball to the tank. It will usually sink within a few days of being added to a tank. Don’t worry if your moss ball floats when you first add it to the tank, why not leave it there for your betta fish to investigate? How to know if your moss ball is deadA dead moss ball can be identified as it will be mostly or completely brown, which indicates it is either completely or mostly unrecoverable. At this point, the moss ball can simply be removed as regular garden/organic waste. There is no way to rejuvenate them at this stage How do I get my moss ball? When we ship our moss balls they will come in a heat sealed zip lock bag that was only packed on the day of shipping. We usually ship them with some water in the bag so they can be buoyant. They should appear GREEN and FLAT due to transport (As they normally get flatten due to shipping). There will also be a slight odour – like when rain falls on dry land. We encourage you to give them a rinse under water to clear out any excess cloudiness and also roll them with your hand (like you do with a snot ball) IF your moss ball arrives BROWN or LOOKS DECAYED It means that it has died (which rarely happens but can happen – thus the reason why we send them via Express/ Sendle/ AusPost Snail Mail) If this happens please send photos and videos using the Facebook Messenger icon and we will send you a fresh one. Seachem Prime 325mL – Rhino Edition – Bonus 30% Extra Rhino poaching has become a serious issue, leaving some breeds extinct and others endangered in recent years, and is currently at a crisis level. Timing is critical for the preservation of these majestic animals. As part of our ongoing environmental stewardship efforts, Seachem has joined the battle to support the protection of these endangered animals. We are pleased to release specially labeled editions of our top selling products—Prime™ and Stability™— in a bonus size of 325 ml (30% more)! Seachem will donate a portion of the profits for every bottle sold to a Rhino Preservation in South Africa. You can also make additional donations via our website at www.seachem.com. We thank you for your consideration and support! Seachem Prime 325ml Complete and concentrated conditioner for both fresh and saltwaterRemoves chlorine, chloramineDetoxifies ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate5X more concentrated than competing productsPrime® is the complete and concentrated conditioner for both fresh and salt water. Prime® removes chlorine, chloramine and ammonia. Prime® converts ammonia into a safe, non-toxic form that is readily removed by the tank’s biofilter. Prime® may be used during tank cycling to alleviate ammonia/nitrite toxicity. Prime® detoxifies nitrite and nitrate, allowing the biofilter to more efficiently remove them. It will also detoxify any heavy metals found in the tap water at typical concentration levels. Prime® also promotes the production and regeneration of the natural slime coat. Prime® is non-acidic and will not impact pH. Prime® will not overactivate skimmers. Use at start-up and whenever adding or replacing water. Why It’s DifferentNearly all companies manufacture a product that removes chlorine. None of those, however, can compare in quality, concentration, or effectiveness to Seachem’s flagship product: Prime®. Prime® is the second most concentrated dechlorinator on the market after our own aquavitro alpha. A single 100 mL bottle will treat 1000 US gallons of tap water. Prime® will remove both chlorine and chloramines from municipal water supplies. Prime® also contains a binder which renders ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate non-toxic. It is very important to understand how those two functions work together. All dechlorinators operate through a chemical process known as reduction. In this process, toxic dissolved chlorine gas (Cl2) is converted into non-toxic chloride ions (Cl-). The reduction process also breaks the bonds between chlorine and nitrogen atoms in the chloramine molecule (NH2Cl), freeing the chlorine atoms and replacing them with hydrogen (H) to create ammonia (NH3). Typically, dechlorinators stop there, leaving an aquarium full of toxic ammonia! Seachem takes the necessary next step by including an ammonia binder to detoxify the ammonia produced in the reduction process. Be very careful when purchasing water conditioners. If your municipality includes chloramines in the water supplies, a standard sodium thiosulfate dechlorinator is not enough. Prime® promotes the natural production and restoration of the slime coat rather than relying on artificial or non-native slime compounds. A further bonus for the reef hobbyist—Prime® will not overactivate protein skimmers. DirectionsUse 1 capful (5 mL) for each 200 L (50 gallons*) of new water. This removes approximately 1 mg/L ammonia, 4 mg/L chloramine, or 5 mg/L chlorine. For smaller doses, please note each cap thread is approx. 1 mL. May be added to aquarium directly, but better if added to new water first. If adding directly to aquarium, base dose on aquarium volume. Sulfur odor is normal. For exceptionally high chloramine concentrations, a double dose may be used safely. To detoxify nitrite in an emergency, up to 5 times normal dose may be used. If temperature is > 30 °C (86 °F) and chlorine or ammonia levels are low, use a half dose.

[ARRIVED 24-MAR-2025] Clown Panchax (Killifish) Pseudoepiplatys annulatus Killies 1-3cm
Described By: (Boulenger), 1915 😊 Description Temperament Peaceful Predator Colour Form Varied Bright Colours. Males - Coloured Tails ♂️ Females - Plain Tails ♀️ Lifespan Roughly 5 years Diet 🥩 Carnivores - feeds on pellets, live foods and frozen foods. Minimum Tank Size 20 Litres Tank Setup Plants - Such as Duckweed, Anubias or Java Fern with many rocks and woods. Such as Dragon Stone, Dragon Wood, Quan Woods. Compatibility Peaceful - However due to the size please be aware that it can be eaten by bigger fish. To keep your Clown Killifish happy, their habitat should be well lit, water parameters excellent, and a gentle current from the filter set. If you give your clown Killies these conditions, they can live for 5 years! Rocket Killie Clown Killies are also known as rocket killies and banded panchax. Coming from western Africa, they are found in southern Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. The Clown Killifish is a peaceful micro-predator that feeds primarily on tiny flying insects and invertebrates. 😊 Can we expect some clowning around? Clown Killifish are shy (they are rather small) but they will become more playful when in a group, so expect some interesting schooling behaviour. They even enjoy jumping out of the water for some fun! Make sure to keep their tank lid tightly fitted so that these fish can have as much space as possible to live and play around without the risk of an excursion on the floor. 😊 A unique look Clown Killifish are also called Rocket Killies because they resemble tiny rockets. In addition, they have torpedo-shaped bodies that help them swim up for food, and they even appear as a fishy clown with round heads and spade-like tails. 😊 Keeping Clown Killifish in the Aquarium You can choose to house Clown Killies in larger community tanks that are already occupied by other species. The downside is the fish won't reproduce as often if they're placed with another type of inhabitant, so you should know what kind of goal you have for keeping these types of fishes before giving them a home. 😊 Are these fish easy to breed? If you have a male and female in your tank, don't worry about mating. Just maintain healthy water parameters to keep them alive, and they will breed when it's the right time every month! Clown Killies are prolific parents who can produce up to 25 fry per cycle - twice each month until their population numbers get out of hand! 😊 Feeding your Clown Killies Clown Killies are carnivores that need a lot of meaty protein, but they can only eat tiny portions. They lay in wait for the insects to land on the water's surface and then eat their prey - or what could be considered for them a tasty meat morsel! Ideally, in captivity, we can try mimicking what can be in the natural environment: baby brine shrimp 1-2 times a day should do it! There is advice on other foods on the internet but realistically, sticking with brine shrimp for a treat is good enough and achievable without spending a fortune. PLEASE CONTACT US FIRST BEFORE YOU ORDER ANY FEMALES AS WE WILL HAVE TO CHECK OUR STOCK!

[ARRIVED 23-MAY-2025] True Siamese Algae Eaters SAE 4-6cm
Siamese algae eaters (Crossocheilus siamensis) OVERVIEW: Siamese algae eaters (Crossocheilus siamensis) are a member of the carp family within cyprinids. This means they reside mainly in freshwater habitats with an omnivorous feeding preference for aquatic vegetation and terrestrial animals such as bugs, molluscs, annelid worms, etc., all depending on what's readily available near them to snack upon at any given time! If you're looking to clean up your tank, the Siamese algae eater is just what you need. These fish are great for beginners and veterans alike because they eat away at pesky green goop in no time! While freshwater aquariums can be a challenging task when it comes to keeping them clean, having an option like this will make those chores much easier on any pet owner whose passion lies with their aquatic pets. With so many benefits that come with owning one of these little critters, there isn't anything not worth mentioning about them! BEHAVIOR: Siamese Algae Eaters are the most social fish in your tank. They love to play with other community aquarium species, and they don't mind when you go on vacation for a week or two either! Siamese Algae Eaters can get along with just about any of their tank mates as long as they have plenty of room to swim around - which is why an aquarium at least ten gallons should be considered before adding them to your home environment. HABITAT: The Siamese algae eater is a type of fish that can be found in freshwater habitats throughout Southeast Asia. They are bottom dwellers and prefer to spend their time near plants or other hiding places on the ground where they feel comfortable and safe. In Thailand, these fascinating creatures live along riversides and flooded forests during this region's rainy season, which provides them with plenty of food sources for survival like edible plant life, insects, worms, crustaceans, including crayfish & shrimp eggs! APPEARANCE: The female Siamese algae eater has a broader midsection than the male fish. This appearance detail is interesting because it creates more of an aesthetic difference between males and females, which can be seen as beneficial for mating or breeding in captivity. Another interesting trait about these creatures is that they do not have what's commonly called "a swim bladder." If left without any motion, this fish will quickly sink to the bottom of their habitat due to its lack thereof; however, this could also offer some benefit when owning them in captivity since you would need less space with no risk of losing your pets! Side-by-side comparisons are always fun: The female Siamese algae eaters seem like bigger versions compared to males Siamese algae eaters are slender and long fish with a bold black stripe running over their entire bodies. These short, brownish-beige colour fish can be easily identified by one eye-catching strip on each side of the body with an almost clear caudal fin at the end of it all. The Siamese algae eater is most commonly found in aquariums because they do not require much food or water movement to survive but thrive best when given live plants and aquatic animals as part of their diet. SIZE: Siamese algae eaters can get a bit larger than most freshwater tropical fish species that you'll find in various tanks. These bottom-loving fish can grow up to approximately 6 inches (16 cm) and sometimes even longer when given a chance, but they prefer smaller spaces with plenty of hiding spots. Fish owners should plan for at least 30 gallons in size if considering this pet for their tank- it will give them room to swim comfortably or hide from other aggressive neighbours! Siamese Algae Eaters are rare breeds; unlike many types of freshwater animals who don't need much space, Siamese Algae Eater does best with enough swimming room and places to retreat into safety while being away from predators more. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SIAMESE ALGAE EATERS AND SIAMESE FLYING FOX FISH: When purchasing a Siamese algae eater for an aquarium, fish owners should be aware of the distinguishing features between this species and the flying fox. For example, the Siamese algae eater has fins that continue onto its back instead of being narrower at its tail end like those found on the flying fox. In addition, they have 3-4 vertical black lines running down their side while these markings are absent in other varieties such as peacock or guppy, which may confuse purchases. It can sometimes be difficult to tell if a fish you're looking at is just an ordinary Siamese Algae Eater or it's something else entirely... Like Flying Foxes! These two types of aquatic creatures look nearly identical, but there are some important differences. The flying fox has a distinctive gold band that can be seen along the top border of their black stripe, not found on true Siamese algae eaters. The telltale difference between these two species is in colouration. While both may have an orange-yellow tinge to them, only the flying fox's fins are always clear because they don't have a light golden line around its dark black one like you would find with somebody who's also got it coming off their tails and across their body as well. This animal's appearance varies solely on where it lives; those living near salt water will typically sport lighter colours than individuals from freshwater pools or ponds since they must adapt to prevalent sunlight conditions due to location differences. CARE: One of the most attractive facets of owning Siamese algae eaters is that they are not as hard to care for because you can feed them various foods. However, it's important to know what diseases these fish might be susceptible to and how best to prevent sicknesses before committing yourself completely. Before making your commitment to caring for siamese algae-eaters, do some research into which illnesses could affect this species if neglected or fed incorrectly by researching online from various sources like books on animal behaviour or other websites about aquariums in general. One word of caution is not to overpopulate the tank with too many Siamese. Even though these fish are amazing for their constant tank cleaning action when feasting on algae, it's important to remember that any fish will create body waste which can dirty up your tanks and environment. FEEDING: Feeding your fish the correct food is essential for their health and longevity. If you feed them something that doesn't match what they're used to, it may disrupt their digestive system or interfere with their growth process. For example, a Siamese algae eater eats everything in sight - dead insects, plant matter like seaweed (if available), even other fish! Like most species of aquarium owners know already, feeding each one correctly keeps them happy and healthy as long as possible. Fish are usually picky about who's giving out the grub but Siamese algae eaters can take pretty much anything thrown at 'em because they're omnivores: They'll scavenge any dead insect bits laying around on land or water just waiting. TANK SIZE: Generally, plan to go with a minimum tank size of 25-30 gallons. This will allow them to be active and explore while also having places to hide. Keep the water pH at 6.5-7 which replicates the slightly acidic conditions these fish encounter in their normal dwelling place in wild streams and rivers that have lower current action when you're keeping Siamese tropical freshwater fish like this one for your aquarium or pond setting set for best results between (25 °C – 26 ° C). The ideal hardness is 5-20 dH so as not to damage its delicate fins too much against rocks or other hard surfaces it might bump into during an exploratory swim around exploring new waters. TANKMATES: When you want to find a fish that can work well with your Siamese algae eater: Take the time to research what other bottom-dwellers are compatible. Be careful when selecting which ones go together as not all of them will get along peacefully. Avoid Cichlids and red-tailed sharks because they can be more aggressive than others! BREEDING: Siamese algae eaters are notoriously difficult to breed in a regular aquarium setting. Unfortunately, fish experts don't know as much about successfully breeding this species when not at an established fish farm. As a result, most owners end up relying on the farms to expand their numbers of Siamese algae eaters.

Seiryu Stones Sold per small piece, kilos
True Seiryu Stone for Aquascaping OVERVIEW: Seiryu stones are a type of sedimentary rock that originates from Japan. The rocks mainly consist of carbonated limestone and have layers of calcite veins, making it popularly known for being used in the Iwagumi style aquascape concept. These formations can be found all over mountainous regions, especially near streams where erosion naturally occurs on its banks; as well as rocky slopes, cliff sides, or seashores due to their composition mainly containing minerals such as calcium magnesium silicate and quartz sandstone The Seiryu Stone is also known as Thousand Layer Stones, found in China and the Middle East. So if you want to create an interesting landscape for your vivarium, this would be perfect! It's heavy, though, so it just might not work well if you live anywhere where there isn't much rain or humidity levels are high-- but then again, that does depend on what kind of plants/animals will inhabit said terrarium! Seiryu stones are often found in deep-blue and blackish-grey colours, depending on the acid treatment. This colour can be mistaken for a grey stone with a similar appearance due to its layers that reveal attractive jagged edges and calcite veins; this detail gives it an exciting look. HISTORY: Japanese seiryu stone is also known as dragon's stone, and its name refers to the Azure Dragon. This mythical constellation has blue scales that inspired the naming of this beautiful rock stone. The beauty of these stones became popular in aquascaping when they were introduced by Takashi Amano, who created two styles: amano (nature) style, which imitates nature with natural materials like leaf litter or pebbles Iwagumi style is similar to bonsai design where there are three rocks placed on a sand bed - one large central stone surrounded by smaller ones- all arranged compositionally within an imaginary square tank environment. HABITAT: Japan has become a refuge for aquascaping stones as of late due to their immense popularity. Unfortunately, one such stone, Seiryu Stone, can only be found in Japan's dry valleys and is not legal to export any longer-the Japanese government wants you to keep it all the way! Sadly other rocks that look similar are more common outside of Japan, so if you're looking for true seiryu rock make sure your source comes from this beautiful place because when compared side by side, there is no comparison at all. Inspired by the Japanese culture and their love for beautiful stones, Seiryu Stone is a rare stone capturing people's hearts. COLOUR: Seiryu is a type of rock that has dark grey and light shades. There are various types of stones in this family, but the most common one is Seiryu Stone with its signature white veins running through it which can sometimes be found on other stones like Black Seiryu Stone or Ryouh Stones. The Seiryu stone ranges from deep-blue to a blackish-grey colour. This is dependent on the acid treatment, and it should not be confused with similar stones that have been treated in this way. When you come across one of these naturally occurring phenomena's don't miss out! ENVIRONMENTAL INFLUENCE: Seiryu Stone is a metamorphic rock that has been known to cause complications in aquariums due to its impact on pH balance. Containing both calcium and carbonate ions within it, Seiryu Stone leads the GH (Calcium/Magnesium concentration) and KH(Carbonate Concentration). Seiryu stones will only slightly raise your pH and gH. If you're seeking to use these in an aquarium, be sure to keep this information in mind! Seiryu Stone is one of the most popular rocks in landscaping because it can be cost-efficient and aesthetically pleasing. However, there are some drawbacks to using this rock: if too much Seiryu stone is used, its PH levels will change affecting nearby plants that require low or soft water parameters. To protect these fragile ecosystems from Mini Landscapes' devastating effects on their inhabitants as well as live plants who need a certain type of soil pH level for survival, people have found ways to buffer it with substrates such as wood chips which has an acidifying effect when decaying; adding limestone gravels onto the ground near trees also helps by keeping them alive while still enjoying the beauty they provide. VIVARIUM: Seiryu Stone is a great way to create an aesthetically pleasing and sustainable aquatic habitat for your fish. It's best suited for lake cichlid tanks that require higher levels of hard water. Still, freshwater vivariums can also benefit from this stone if you supplement the tank with driftwood or substrate, which will buffer any negative effects on softer waters. ADVANTAGE OF USING SEIRYU STONES: For those who are looking for an even more interactive and educational pet rock, Seiryu Stone can be a great choice. This stone is porous so it makes the perfect place to anchor microorganisms like algae or bacteria which help make clean water for other creatures in your tank. Epiphytic plants also latch on very easily making this a unique way of not only having something pretty but functional at the same time! Seiryu Stones have some really cool features that many people might overlook when they're just browsing fish tanks online as one option among much options-the texture allows all sorts of different animals to attach themselves whether you want them there or not (like shrimp)! They'll provide food if you happen to decide against feeding anything else. Seiryu is a great choice for those who want their aquascape to last. The rocks are durable and won't break as easily which means the rock will stay intact through years of wear-and-tear, unlike other types of sedimentary stones that can wither away over time! Another reason we love using seiryu in our designs? They're tough enough to withstand years upon years' worth of use without breaking down like many surface layer or sandstone substrates do after prolonged exposure. That durability also makes them an excellent option if you need your design to be something that lasts more than just one season - they'll get better with age rather than worse so there's no worry about them disintegrating. DISADVANTAGE OF USING SEIRYU STONES: Seiryu Stone is known to have many benefits, but it also can cause problems if not handled right. If you are using Seiryu Stone and dealing with delicate livestock - make sure the PH levels of your water hardness level isn't too high or low for them! And keep in mind that because seiryu is so dense, stacking this material very high may be problematic due to its weight. CLEANING SEIRYU STONE: After acquiring the new Seiryu Stone, it should be scrubbed and rinsed with water. This will remove any residual dirt from its pores that would otherwise change the colour of your aquarium or other aquatic environments. Cleaning rocks can be a tedious process, but it is necessary to preserve the natural beauty of these stones. Start by placing them in cold water and lightly rinsing with medium pressure until all dirt has been removed from small crevices. The use of bamboo skewers help break up the debris that might have remained trapped during this process; however, you must also avoid using chemicals or strong water pressure so as not to wear down your beautiful stone too much! BREAKING SEIRY STONE: Many people don't like the way seiryu stone looks, so you may be surprised with how much of it arrives in your package. If this happens to you and doesn't suit what you wanted for a project, there are some things that can be done about it. The first step is to make sure that when breaking up the stones they look natural. Seiryu Stone is a tough stone to break into smaller pieces because it doesn't crack easily. However, one can use the hammer and chisel technique with this rock to ensure that they get aesthetically pleasing chunks of Mini stones every time. The stones will be more likely to fly around when being broken up - so make sure you wear safety goggles! It might take some trial-and-error before finding out which process works best for this type of material, but once you do find your preferred method keep in mind that after each session to clean the rocks as needed until all surfaces are free from dirt or residue leftover on them by other materials like water or oil products. BOOSTS ALGAE GROWTH: Seiryu stones in aquariums can help algae grow and create a healthy ecosystem. Algae create oxygen for the other aquarium plants to thrive, while also taking carbon dioxide from them through photosynthesis. This balanced system is important as it helps with nutrient cycling where dead plant matter decomposes into nutrients that are used by new ones growing out of old roots or leftover food scraps on the bottom of your tank which will then be decomposed again back into gas carbon dioxide for more algal growth! FOOD SOURCE FOR LIVESTOCK: As a good aquascapes, you will not neglect to feed your fish. In addition to food for the livestock, algae from seiryu stones can be an additional source of nutrition. One example is Amano shrimps and Nerite snails that eat this type of plant life. DECREASES AMMONIA AND NITRITE LEVELS: Researchers have found that adding seiryu stones to an aquarium can reduce ammonia and nitrate levels, making the water healthier for your fish. The calcium carbonate in these rocks helps increase pH without having to use any chemicals like limestone or baking soda. MIMICS THE NATURAL HABITAT OF FISHES: Seiryu stones are great for fish tanks because they offer a natural habitat that mimics the environment where fishes would usually live. The addition of seiryu stones, along with some plant life in your tank will help reduce stress to your fishes and can go as far as preventing death! Shipping We can send up to 5kg free of charge. [ARRIVED 14-MAY-2025] Darwin Algae Shrimp (Caridina sp NT nilotica) Caridina longisrostris
Caridina sp NTnilotica - also called ""Darwin Algae Shrimp" or "algae eater shrimp"- is a freshwater species of doube periophthalmate shrimps belonging to the Atyidae family. It was named after P. Roux's research in 1833 and it has its natural habitat over Africa - between the Nile River in Egypt to Lake Sibaya in South Africa and only can be found in Lake Victoria, the source of the Nile River; on other hand according to some sources, this shrimp's homeland is northern Australia, as a significant part of resources on this species belongs there too. There is no doubt the Darwin Algae Shrimp are often confused with Caridina Longistiris. But they differ from each other in many ways. One of their most distinctive features is that it has a white stripe extending from its head to its tail, depending on what time of day or whether it's eating something The males are smaller and less colourful, while the females are larger and more colourful. These shrimps can reach 4-5 cm in length. Water Parameters: pH: 6.5-8 Hardness: soft to hard Temperature: 18-28C Type: Freshwater Darwin algae shrimps prefer to live in aquariums that have high-quality clear water. Unlike snails, they can't tolerate pH levels much either and should be kept in soft or medium hardness environments. However, sudden changes to the temperature of the water will harm them too so it's best to use a heater and thermostat for stability. Darwin algae shrimps are peaceful and will do well with tank mates that are close to its size. It is not able to live in harmony with fish that show territorial protection or large sizes. This can be a problem, as Darwin algae shrimps have been observed being eaten due to their small size from time-to-time. Aggressive and larger fish can always pose a threat, so it may get along better living tanks mates who also have calm behaviour like itself The Caridina sp. Ntnilotica is a shrimp that's generally active in its behavior. This brave shrimp can compete with smaller fish over food and it also has the potential to be hardy if you set up the aquarium properly. If this shrimps movement slows down for just a brief moment, do not worry, as they are cautious around their tankmates so there is no need to panic when this happens! However, if this slowness continues for longer periods of time then it may be due to various diseases that have occured in your shrimp or its habitat… The Darwin Algae Shrimp do not harm aquatic plants, and they mostly live in harmony with them. They are typically preferred to be kept in planted aquariums. Feeding Darwin Algae Shrimp species is a good algae eater. However, their natural feeding areas are the rocky areas densely covered in moss and algae populations. To keep them healthy, it's best to provide an adequate amount of algae or establish one in your tank by exposing rocks or other decorations to high light and moving them into your shrimp tank. If you don't have any on hand - they can be fed dry food occasionally. In addition, if there are microorganisms present that are substantial enough - they will eat those too! But first choice will always be the algae available for consumption. Breeding Little information is available about the reproduction of Darwin Algae Shrimp. There are some observations in Australia for mating time. For instance, before mating, female molts and is surrounded by males during this molting period. After mating the female carries gray eggs that she incubates until they hatch into juvenile shrimp who resemble their parents and then move to a freshwater environment when they grow up in natural conditions (in captivity juveniles must be manually taken from half-strength saltwater over to freshwater). But it's important to provide proper food sources like plankton or otherwise juvenile shrimps will not survive as well Do we have the real deal? A lot of sellers online normally sell Glass Shrimps (Paratya australiensis) and it is very easy to make this mistake as well. In order to resolve the species that we have in stock we have unknowingly done the following: We accidentally sent invertebrates to a customer in Western Australia and it had been ceased by WA Quarantine as Inverts are not allowed in WA. Due to this the package was ceased and awaiting euthanisation. However while waiting for euthanisation the Quarantine Officer decided to put this up for testing. The initial test discovered that this was classified as Paratya australiensis. However later in the day it was pointed that it was a human error where the pheonotype that was used was Paratya australiensis in the WA Quarantine Database. This has been subsequently resolved and the correct name has been established for this species which is Caridina longisrostris. Due to this knowledge and by direct confirmation from Quarantine WA (July 2020). NTA is confident that we sell Caridina longisrostris and not Paratya australiensis. When you purchase from NTA be assured that you will be getting the real shrimps that has been sustainably harvested by a licensed collector from Far North Queensland. What is it good for? Caridina longisrostris is useless on algae that is stuck on the glass or on rocks that has a smooth texture. They will not touch these kinds of algae and it is better that you use Otocinclus for this. What Caridina longisrostris is good for is Black Beard Algae BBA or Green Algae. They will also eat dead or decaying leaves. If there are none of the above they will eat the biofilm in the tank. ONLY if there is nothing left they will eat live plants. However this is very unlikely to occur. Also, another component that we have observed is that these shrimps will eat left over fish food and also will cannibalise if one of the shrimps is weak or there is a failed molt. They will also attack dead fish. Is it right for you? If you enjoy efficient algae cleaning machine this shrimp is for you. When you buy 6 or more it is safe to put it in a Betta tank as well. [ARRIVED 23-MAY-2025] Green Neon Tetra 3-5cm
The green neon tetra (Paracheirodon simulans) is a freshwater fish of the family Characidae of order Characiformes. It is native to the upper Orinoco and Negro Rivers in South America.[2] This fish is similar in appearance to the closely related and better-known neon tetra, but it is slightly smaller, and its red patch is less pronounced, while the blue-green areas of the upper body are more brilliant. Also, its body is slimmer than that of the neon tetra. It grows to a maximum overall length of about 3.5 cm (1.4 in). Like the other Paracheirodon species, the green neon tetra is kept as an aquarium fish, but it is less commonly seen than either the neon tetra or the cardinal tetra. P. simulans is also sometimes called the blue or false neon. Hyphessobrycon simulans and Cheirodon simulans are obsolete synonyms. A Green neon tetra with the lack of red stripe clearly visibleThis fish loses its brilliant blue and red colors when lights are switched off, but regains them when lights are switched on again. The green neon tetra comes from extremely soft, acidic water at temperatures around 24 to 29 °C (75 to 84 °F). Source: Wikipedia contributors. Green neon tetra. Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia. High Quality Black Lava Rock per kg
Black Lava is of volcanic origin, featuring a porous texture, making it very lightweight and versatile. Due to its comparably low weight, it is possible to create large structures with it. For example it is possible to design a “Green Reef”. Green Reefs are tall scapes covered in various epiphytes like ferns of the genus Microsorum or Bolbitis, Pogostemon helferi or different kinds of moss. Their roots will find a good foothold due to the porouse sctructure of the stone. Individual stones can still be moved or exchanged later on, making the layout modular. Also a classical Iwagumi can be made from Black Lava since the very dark colours make for a good contrast to the grey color of the more commonly used kinds of stone. As an advantage Black Lava does not increase the hardness of the tank water. Lava rock is often used in conjunction with roots. The individual stones can be covered with moss to form forest-inspired scapes. Do you know that Black Lava is also used in different settings and not for aquarium uses as well? We have had people using this for Fijian Ground Cooking to people using it as a filtration. Why does ot look like concrete? High quality black lava does look like concrete at times. At there unwashed state they do have a greyish tinge that looks like concrete. Concrete however turns to dust and pure concrete is very brittle. A lot of our customers may initially get disappointed as our pieces do come unwashed or they are dissatisfied with that one piece. We always advise our customers is if the pieces looks too big or they need to break it down, a chisel and a hammer will break it down nicely. Of course if you need our assistance then simply send a message and we can assist you with your enquiry. Shipping We can send up to 5kg. If you need more then 5kg, this will be a bulk order and you will be quoted separately. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO PICK THE PIECES FOR YOU. PLEASE BE SPECIFIC IN YOUR REQUEST ON THE NOTES. All pieces are around 1kg and around 8-15cm

Seachem Stability (Bacteria) 325mL +30% Bonus Buy Save the Rhinos
Seachem Stability, new tank stabilisation system for marine and freshwater.Quickly and safely establishes bio-filter. Prevents “New Tank Syndrome”. Seachem StabilitySeachem Stability is a new tank stability system for freshwater and marine fish tanks. It quickly and safely starts the bio-filter and stops “New Tank Syndrome” which is the number one fish killer! Seachem Stability adds the essential bacteria a healthy filter needs to ensure the health and well being of the tank residents! When you set up a new tank you simply add Seachem Stability to the water and it fills your filter with nitrifying bacteria within 24 hours! This allows the fish keeper to add fish to a new tank from day one! How it works:Seachem Stability has been specially made for the fish tank and is the result of nearly a 10 years of research and is the “state of the art” in natural biological management. Seachem Stability contains a blend of billions of four species of bacteria. Two of which are nitrifying, one is waste eating and a fourth which simply eats nitrate. These strains of bacteria are cultured for the purpose of eating nitrogenous waste to reduce unsafe toxins in the water. These bacteria collect onto your filter sponge or bio media in your filter and start to break down waste organics, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate meaning your fish have the healthiest possible start! The conditions needed for the bacteria’s growth and development fall into a very narrow range of temperatures, pH and organic load. When any of these are not in the proper range the bacterial culture quickly crashes and dies. The bacteria used in some other products found on the market today can be unstable and may even produce toxic hydrogen sulphide. Seachem Stability works over a wider range of pH or GH levels than other brands on the market. It is completely harmless to all aquatic creatures and plants. As a result, there is no danger of overusing. You can really never have too many helpful bacteria! Waste ControlThe benefits of the exact strains of bacteria in Seachem Stability also vie with any likely bad bacteria added with the fish. This is due to the “waste control bacteria” eating any spare fish food and fish waste that is lying around. This, of course, leads to far healthier fish! You should use Stability with a good quality biological filtration such as Seachem Matrix.

[ARRIVED 23-MAY-2025] Corydoras trilineatus Three stripe Corydoras 3-5cm
Three stripe - Juli's Cory Catfish (Corydoras trilineatus) OVERVIEW: Scientific Name Corydoras julii Family Callichthyidae Common Names Julii cory, julii cory fish, julii catfish Ease of keeping Easy Lifespan 7 years and more Tank size 30 gallons and more Temperament Peaceful Tank type Community of fishes Diet Omnivorous bottom feeder Temperature 72-78 °F (22-26 °C) pH 6.0-8.0 Water hardness 2–20 dGH Size up to 3 in (7.5 cm) The three-stripe corydoras is a freshwater fish that lives in the Amazon River basin and coastal rivers of South America. They are not aggressive fish, but they will defend their territory by chasing away other fishes with an impressive display of fins waving back and forth. When you are looking for a fish to keep in your aquarium, consider the three stripe corydoras. It is an interesting and peaceful species that can grow up to 2.5 inches (6.1 centimeters) long! The three-stripe corydoras live in water with pH levels between 6-8 as well as temperatures ranging from 72-79 degrees Fahrenheit, which makes it suitable for most homes' environments without needing specific care requirements or changes of temperature over time like some other animals might need. This type of animal feeds on worms, benthic crustaceans, insects, and plant matter among others so there will never be any food shortages when keeping one indoors either - perfect if you're trying not just to want something nice but also easy. COLOR: The colour of this fish is not what it seems. The underside is pale white, while the top side has a greenish tint to its skin that sparkles in the water. Three long stripes run along their sides and five vertical striped lines extend from head to tail on both fins for an amazing effect when swimming in open waters! BEHAVIOR: This shy fish is an interesting creature to observe, and planning a large group of three-band Corydoras will help them become more confident. They are said to be quite fearful because they find comfort in the presence of their fellow tankmates as well! COHABITATION: Corydoras trilineatus is a three-lined Corydoras species that has until recently been underappreciated in the aquarium world. They are very peaceful and never disturb other inhabitants, making them an ideal fish for anyone who wants to keep more than one type of animal together without any fighting or risk to their personal safety. BREEDING: When you want to breed your corydoras, make sure they are at a stage where their eggs have the best chance of hatching. Cory catfish can get pregnant any time between 3-8 years old but it's typically after age 5 when females produce bigger and better quality fry! Before this point in life, young female fish will still be able to give birth on occasion with some success or may lay infertile eggs which are more likely than fertile ones to become infected by a fungus that turns them into jellyfish looking deflated blobs. AQUARIUM: Corydoras prefer to inhabit tanks with rough surfaces and strong water currents for feeding. They can often be found near the bottom of a tank grazing on algae, detritus, or other filter-feeding organisms like shrimp. With small mouths but voracious appetites, these little fish are perfect for eating whatever gets stuck in your aquarium filters! FEEDING: Corydoras trilineatus is not difficult to feed, but it's always important to consider its preferred food. For perfect health, vary this basic diet with contributions in plants and invertebrates like tubifex or daphnia. And for the ultimate treat? Give them vase worms! If your Corydoras are struggling because other fish eat their meal faster than they can get at it during the day when lights are on- make sure you distribute meals only after dark so that all of your aquarium occupants have an equal chance of eating well without feeling threatened by one another.

[ARRIVED 9-JUN-2025] Kuhli Loach (the Coolie Loach) Pangio kuhlii 3-5cm
Kuhli Loach (the Coolie Loach) If you are looking for an interesting fishy friend, this baby is perfect! Not only is their colouration attractive, but they require very little maintenance, which makes them a real coup for any home aquarium. The Kuhli loach Pangio Kuhlii is a social freshwater fish or an excellent tank mate. They originate from Indonesia and the Malay Peninsula and dwells in shallow rapids and swamps with slow-moving water. Kuhli loaches are also known as clowns of the aquarium because they may do some unique behaviors like swimming upside down, behaving more like a cat than a fish. The stripes along its side make for an interesting pattern that all visitors to your home aquarium will surely appreciate. The habitat of this snake-like creature is usually found under rocks and logs, but it’s not uncommon to see it swimming around the tank. These nocturnal creatures are very slender, so you’ll need only a tiny improvised fish tank with several inches of water depth for your new friend! Care Guide These little guys are perfect for any home aquarium since they’re usually pretty low maintenance (i.e., don’t need a lot of fish food or upkeep, will do well at room temperature, etc.). Plus, they even give those algae eaters a run for their money! They may not eat algae but they demolish unfinished fish food, lowering your aquariums ammonia levels. Fish Tank Parameters Temperature:24°-29°C Ammonia/Nitrite: 0 Nitrate: >30 ppm pH: 5.5-7.0 GH: 3-5 dGH (50-83 ppm) KH: 3-4 dKH (53-71 ppm) Food These carnivores make the perfect pet for a fish enthusiast. They eat just about anything you put in their tank, but they seem to like blood worms and brine shrimp. Kuhli’s usually accept pellets or flakes in captivity; however, frozen live food such as mosquito larvae are recommended at least once every other day to help keep these animals healthy and thriving. Appearance These small eel-looking fish with dark brown stripes yet transparent skin can range from 7.5 to 12.5cm and are a popular aquarium species for those who want something with personality. Their long bodies end with four pairs of barbels around their mouths – these help them find food on the bottom of lakes where they mostly live. Kuhli Loach Home Habitat The Kuhli Loach is renowned for its coloration and beauty. They are found in South-East Asia, with their habitats being limited to the shallow, slow-moving waters of forest streams, a similar environment as old peat swamps, which have black waters. The water can be very acidic at times due to pH levels that range from 3.0 – 4.0 (with an extremely low mineral content) because there are usually high amounts of organic material such as plants decaying on the riverbed’s substrate from sand or mud. Kuhli Loach Behaviour The Kuhli Loach is a peaceful fish to anything not too small. They may seem like the definition of lazy during daylight hours; however, as night falls, their behavior changes to one reminiscent of submarines on patrol! These marine scavengers spend the most time near river beds looking for food that has sunken down from above- such as plant debris or smaller creatures unlucky enough to find themselves at the bottom without anything else nearby to use in self-defense against these predators. This means that, unlike other fishes who spend all day hunting on top of water’s surface, demersal creatures such as Kuhli’s prefer hiding out under rocks or among aquatic plants close enough to get maximum exposure without fear of being eaten by predators. Kuhli Loach and Aquarium Fishes Compatibility Kuhli Loaches are peaceful fish who will spend most of their time swimming at the bottom of your tank. They’re best kept with other small non-aggressive schooling fish such as Corydoras, Danios, Rasboras, and Tetras so that they can scavenge peacefully among them without being disturbed by more active swimmers like Angelfish or Tilapia. Good tankmates in this situation include White Cloud Mountain Minnows, Oto Catfish, and shrimps like the Red Cherry Shrimp. These creatures inhabit a higher elevation than Kuhlis do on average, meaning there is less chance for territorial disputes to occur when you decide between which species make up your aquarium ecosystem! Cute Eel Body with a Dorsal Fin These tiny aquatic creatures have eel-shaped bodies, four pairs of barbels around the mouth, and pretty cute little fins. The dorsal fin starts behind the middle of your pet’s body, while their anal fin is well behind this. How to Breed Kuhli Loach It can be challenging to breed Kuhli Loaches, but it is possible to set up a breeding tank with the following parameters. The water levels should be lower, and there should not be much light for females to lay their eggs on plants or dense vegetation that will promote spawning. Lowering the hardness of your water while maintaining its acidity at pH 6.5 could help make this process more feasible. What about an aggressive fish like a Betta? Can’t help but feel your Betta is a grump but still needs friends? Introduce the Kuhli Loach as the Betta’s BFF. Friendly, infinitely easier than breeding guppies, and practically guaranteed to get along with any other species of organism in your tank! Kuhli loaches thrive on anything and might end up being one of your underwater buddies for life! Kuhli Skin Shedding The Kuhli Loach’s skin may come off like a bad shirt that no longer fits, but nothing can phase this tough critter. In fact, this is totally normal for them, as they naturally shed. We recommend providing plenty of salt in their water tank to keep it clean during this time. Also consider floating plants to keep your tank healthy! Skin Watch Some Loaches develop a white patch on their side that goes over areas of their skin, giving them the look of being bald. They might also have some kind of skin affliction like scales or spots across their body as well. There are many reasons why this may happen, but regardless it’s a cause for concern. Your water quality and tank mates should be inspected because sometimes fighting between other fish can result in wounds and ulcerations to your pet! You need to make sure you provide them with plenty of hiding places; those that live exclusively on the bottom tend to hide more often than others, so sand substrate really helps promote natural behavior too! Get any pollution under control at home if possible (you know what’s in there).

Koral (Coral) Driftwood
The Koral Wood that we have are some of the nicest pieces of wood we have had for a long time. The structure of each piece is quite stunning with it's intricate shapes. These wood were originally from China and have made its way in the aquascaping field in 2020 by being more heavier and darker in colour it replaced Gold Vine. The only thing we found with these wood is that it does leech a lot of dark tannins! However, that's really the only issue we have found with this wood. There are more advantages then disadvantages.. such as there are no real build up of biofilm as you do in Gold Vine. Definitely worth a go the next time you do a tank.
