Cholla is a type of cactus that is not actually wood at all, but the skeleton of the cereus. It has a brilliant hideout and is an optimal retreat for all invertebrates. It's free of chemicals and pesticides, and also rich in potassium, calcium, and magnesium. It forms a microbial biofilm over time, so shrimps and crayfish graze the surface for food time and again. Cholla is hollow inside and it sinks rapidly to the ground when placed in water. It can also be planted with ferns or mosses to make it more decorative.
Cholla Wood contains tannins that can cause discolouration of the water. To avoid this, please water it for a few days.
