Crustacean Ultimate Shrimp Snow 25 gram pack

Shrimp Snow is a type of shrimp food that is designed to provide a balanced and nutritious diet for freshwater aquarium shrimp. It is a fine, powdery substance that is made up of a blend of high-quality ingredients, including plant-based proteins, vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients. Shrimp Snow is a popular choice among shrimp keepers because it is easy to feed and can be consumed by both adult and juvenile shrimp. The fine texture of the powder allows it to spread easily throughout the aquarium, making it accessible to all the shrimp in the tank. Shrimp Snow can also help to promote healthy growth, coloration, and reproductive health in shrimp. One of the benefits of using Shrimp Snow as a shrimp food is that it is specifically designed to meet the nutritional needs of freshwater shrimp. It contains high levels of spirulina, a blue-green algae that is rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals. Spirulina is a natural source of carotenoids, which can enhance the coloration of shrimp and make them more vibrant. In addition to spirulina, Shrimp Snow contains other plant-based proteins, such as wheat germ, alfalfa, and soy protein, which are easily digestible by shrimp. It also contains vitamins and minerals that are essential for shrimp health, such as vitamin C, calcium, and iron. To use Shrimp Snow as a shrimp food, it is typically added to the aquarium in small amounts, several times a day. The powder can be sprinkled directly into the water or added to a feeding dish. It is important to feed shrimp only what they can consume within a few minutes to avoid overfeeding and water quality issues. Overall, Shrimp Snow is a high-quality shrimp food that can provide a balanced and nutritious diet for freshwater aquarium shrimp. It is easy to feed and can help to promote healthy growth, coloration, and reproductive health in shrimp.

  • Sale -50% Drip acclimation shrimp kit - Nano Tanks Australia Aquarium Shop

    Drip acclimation shrimp kit

What's in the kit? 1.5m of Airline 1x 25mm Airstone 1x Airline Suction 1x Steel Valve Why is Drip Acclimating shrimp before placing them in their new tank important? When adding new shrimp into your established already existing tank it is important to take the proper steps in introducing and acclimating them into their new home. The whole process is extremely stressful to the shrimp   The Drip acclimation system helps with this by getting your shrimp used to your aquarium water. Drip acclimation can help reduce shock, as the shock will affect shrimps and can lead to a shorter life expectancy, can cause death, causes stress, and chances of not eating. So acclimating shrimps by the drip method is essential to giving your shrimps a chance to survive in their new environment. Also, for any water changes in the future a drip system will assist, allowing a soft and gradual water change and not shocking the environment as especially Total Dissolved Salts (TDS) & PH must be kept within the correct water parameters and a sudden water change may disturb these parameters. Plan and prepare acclimation: Temperature Check When first arriving home check the temp in the bag vs the temperature in your tank. If it is not the same, float the shrimp in a bowl or something that won’t let water in. If using a regular bag from the fish store you can float that. Drip Acclimation Importance Once the temperature is close to the same then proceed to acclimating the shrimp. Acclimating shrimp should always be done with the drip method. The drip method can be done very simply with airline tubing, a control nozzle, a bucket/bowl, and a shrimp net. There are also products you can buy out there that are designed to do the drip method. I would stick with the basic airline tubing one we stated above. How To Drip Acclimate Empty your shrimp from their bag or bowl into the bucket, including the water from the bag. Now connect the control nozzle to one end of the tubing and place that end in your bucket and the other into your tank. Start a siphon by sucking on one end of the tubing (Make sure the control nozzle is fully open, otherwise your risk looking stupid and your shrimp may laugh at you). Watch the tubing as it fills with water, try not to get any in your mouth, and use your finger to cap the end of the tubing. Now lower the tubing into your bucket where the shrimp are and let go. Take a moment to make sure the siphon is working then adjust the nozzle to the desired flow, which I recommend to be 2-3 drops of water every second. You want to 4x the amount of water in the bucket. So 1/4 is your bag water from the LFS (Local Fish Store) and 3/4 is new water from your tank. The key after you have done the following steps is to now wait… The dreaded moment of nothingness… It should take roughly 1.5-2.5 hours for the shrimp to be ready. The drip method helps to allow the shrimp to adjust to the pH and other water parameters in your tank. This prevents them from being shocked by sudden changes and thus reduces stress… This reducing stress thing must be important, we have highlighted it several times! After You Drip Acclimate Now that your drip method is complete you should now net the shrimp into the aquarium. Leaving your tank light off for the first 24 hours (the lighting will add unneeded stress), also as much as you want to feed these little guys... don't, they will be fine for the first 24 hours, lastly NEVER PUT STORE WATER INTO YOUR TANK! Putting stored water in your tank can potentially allow all sorts of unwanted parasites, bacteria, and fungus into your tank and this is not good!!   Reference https://www.theshrimpfarm.com/posts/acclimating-shrimp/

  • Easy - Life Catappa X 1lt - Nano Tanks Australia Aquarium Shop

    Easy-Life Catappa X 1lt

Catappa leaves are added to aquarium water because of the healing effect they have on fish and shrimps. Catappa-X is the effective, fluid variant of the leaves for aquariums. The leaves of the Catappa tree release healing substances when they are immersed in water. The disadvantage of doing so is that, in time, they decompose, which results in the release of organic compounds. This has a number of unpleasant side effects: it turns the water brown and the released organic compounds contaminate the water. Catappa-X is the answer to these problems. It does not discolour nor contaminate the water and it lowers the bacterial count, which greatly reduces the chance of disease. Catappa-X allows fish and shrimps to flourish and have more vibrant colours. Product benefits of fluid Catappa-X Fish and shrimps with more vibrant colours Improves the general health of the living creatures Prevents diseases Does not turn the water brown No extra organic contamination

  • Seachem Prime 50ml - Nano Tanks Australia Aquarium Shop

    Seachem Prime 50ml

    23 in stock

Prime is the complete and concentrated conditioner for both fresh and salt water. Prime removes chlorine, chloramine and ammonia. Prime converts ammonia into a safe, non-toxic form that is readily removed by the tank’s biofilter. Prime may be used during tank cycling to alleviate ammonia/nitrite toxicity. Prime detoxifies nitrite and nitrate, allowing the biofilter to more efficiently remove them. It will also detoxify any heavy metals found in the tap water at typical concentration levels. Prime also promotes the production and regeneration of the natural slime coat. Prime is non-acidic and will not impact pH. Prime will not overactivate skimmers. Use at start-up and whenever adding or replacing water. WHY IT'S DIFFERENT Nearly all companies manufacture a product that removes chlorine. None of those, however, can compare in quality, concentration, or effectiveness to Seachem’s flagship product: Prime. Prime is the second most concentrated dechlorinator on the market after Seachem Aquavitro Alpha™. A single 100ml bottle will treat 1000 US gallons of tap water. Prime will remove both chlorine and chloramines from municipal water supplies. Prime also contains a binder which renders ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate non-toxic. It is very important to understand how those two functions work together. All dechlorinators operate through a chemical process known as reduction. In this process, toxic dissolved chlorine gas (Cl2) is converted into non-toxic chloride ions (Cl-). The reduction process also breaks the bonds between chlorine and nitrogen atoms in the chloramine molecule (NH2Cl), freeing the chlorine atoms and replacing them with hydrogen (H) to create ammonia (NH3). Typically, dechlorinators stop there, leaving an aquarium full of toxic ammonia! Seachem takes the necessary next step by including an ammonia binder to detoxify the ammonia produced in the reduction process. Be very careful when purchasing water conditioners. If your municipality includes chloramines in the water supplies, a standard sodium thiosulfate dechlorinator is not enough. Prime promotes the natural production and restoration of the slime coat rather than relying on artificial or non-native slime compounds. A further bonus for the reef hobbyist - Prime will not overactivate protein skimmers. DIRECTIONS Use 1 capful (5ml) for each 200L (50 gallons) of new water. This removes approximately 1mg/L ammonia, 4mg/L chloramine, or 5mg/L chlorine. For smaller doses, please note each cap thread is approx. 1ml. May be added to aquarium directly, but better if added to new water first. If adding directly to aquarium, base dose on aquarium volume. Sulfur odor is normal. For exceptionally high chloramine concentrations, a double dose may be used safely. To detoxify nitrite in an emergency, up to 5 times normal dose may be used. If temperature is > 30°C (86°F) and chlorine or ammonia levels are low, use a half dose. 50ml

  • Seachem Stabilty 50ml - Nano Tanks Australia Aquarium Shop

    Seachem Stabilty 50ml

    27 in stock

Stability will rapidly and safely establish the aquarium biofilter in freshwater and marine systems, thereby preventing the #1 cause of fish death: "new tank syndrome". Stability is formulated specifically for the aquarium and contains a synergistic blend of aerobic, anaerobic, and facultative bacteria which facilitate the breakdown of waste organics, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. Unlike competing products, the bacteria employed by Stability are non-sulfur fixing and will not produce toxic hydrogen sulfide. Stability is completely harmless to all aquatic organisms as well as aquatic plants, thus there is no danger of over use. Stability is the culmination of nearly a decade of research and development and represents the current state of the art in natural biological management. WHY IT'S DIFFERENT The bacteria used in competing products are inherently unstable. The conditions necessary for their growth and development fall into a very narrow range of temperatures, pH, organic loads, etc. When any of these parameters are not strictly within the proper range, the bacterial culture quickly crashes and dies. Stability does not contain any of the aforementioned bacteria. The bacteria strains in Stability have been in development for over a decade. The necessary conditions for growth of our bacterial strains encompass a very broad range. When other bacteria begin to die off (usually from high organic loads caused by the undetected death of an organism), Stability simply works harder and grows faster! The strains function in fresh or saltwater. Stability contains both nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria, a blend found in no other product. Additionally, Stability contains facultative bacterial strains which are able to adapt to either aerobic or anaerobic conditions. The bacteria in Stability are non-sulfur fixing, another innovation in the industry. Most other bacterial supplements will form toxic hydrogen sulfide under the proper conditions. Stability will not, ever. DIRECTIONS Use 1 capful (5ml) for each 40L (10 gallons) on the first day with a new aquarium. Then use 1 capful for each 80L (20 gallons) daily for 7 days. Fish and other aquatic species may be introduced at any time as long as dosage is maintained for 7 days. For optimum biofilter performance use 1 capful for each 40L (10 gallons) once a month or with each water change and whenever introducing new fish or whenever medicating an aquarium. 50ml

It typically grows to be about 3-5 inches long, making it a relatively small and manageable aquarium fish. In addition to its unique appearance, the Albino Bristlenose is known for its hardiness and ease of care. It is a peaceful, herbivorous fish that does well in community tanks with other non-aggressive species. Ancistrus, also known as bushynose or bristlenose catfish, is a genus of nocturnal freshwater fish in the family Loricariidae of order Siluriformes, native to freshwater habitats in South America and Panama. The common Bristlenose is commonly captive bred appears impossible to identify to species primarily due to a lack of original locality information but also because tens of undescribed congeners exist. Ancistrus species show all the typical features of the Loricariidae. This includes a body covered in bony plates and a ventral suckermouth. The feature most commonly associated with the genus are the fleshy tentacles found on the head in adult males; females may possess tentacles along the snout margin but they are smaller and they lack tentacles on the head. Tentacules, tentacles directly associated with odontodes, develop on the pectoral fin spine of the males of some species. Sources: Wikipedia contributors. (2019, October 19). Ancistrus.
