Veggie food consisting of flakes with ingredients rich in ballast substances and carotenoids sera Flora Nature is the veggie food for all herbivorous ornamental fish eating at the water surface that does not require dyes and preservatives. Due to the natural ingredients rich in ballast substances such as Spirulina with its high carotenoid percentage, the food ensures healthy digestion and enhances liveliness. The easily digestible composition with its high percentage of herbal protein is also ideal for weakened fish that are, for instance, recovering from an intestinal disease. The flakes keep their shape for a long time and do not cloud the water.

Sera Shrimps Nature is the staple food consisting of gently manufactured granules without dyes and preservatives for all shrimps in fresh and marine water. The balanced composition with ingredients close to nature, such as spirulina and alder cones, provides everything the shrimps require for healthy growth and safe molting. Fertility, splendid coloration, and disease resistance are enhanced in a directed way. The sinking small granules keep their shape for a very long time, thus allowing the shrimps – according to their natural feeding habits – to grab them and slowly graze them off without polluting the water.

OUR NEXT SHIPMENT IS FIRST WEEK OF THE MONTH Live Blackworms are harvested fresh in Victoria We always have these worms in stock (however it will depend on the demand) When we send these they need to be kept cold with ice. SHIPPING IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS BETWEEN NOVEMBER TO FEBRUARY. Live Black worms are harvested fresh in Victoria These worms have a high protein 46% to fat 20% ratio and are the ideal food for breeding fish or the increased mass of young. However please make sure that you feed your fish sparingly Live Black worms as fish can get constipated and this will cause dropsy or bloat on the fish. We strive in maintaining a healthy stock at all times and we will make every effort to provide the necessary advice to make sure they are kept alive in optimum condition. If you are looking to keep this long term then please let us know so we can advise you accordingly LIVE BLACK WORMS What are Black Worms? Live Black Worms is a species called Lumbriculus variegatus and come from very cool climates in shallow-water marshes, ponds, and swamps, feeding on microorganisms and organic material. Where are Black Worms from? Live Black Worms originated from North America and Europe. However, we get our worms fresh from Victoria. How often do you have Live Black Worms? We get our worms usually on a Tuesday or Wednesday of the week. We usually get around 1-2kg of Live Black Worms. This is why when you purchase our worms they are always fresh What do you mean by 30mL or 1L? Does that include water? When we write 30mL or 1L that is the volume of worms you get. We send our worms with as little water in the bag as possible. The reason why we don’t send it with water is that the water gets dirty very quickly with Ammonia. Where do black worms live? These are harvested from clean water that gets its water from the Victorian Alps Vineyards and other crop-thirsty plants also are grown in the area. How do you keep black worms alive? Black worms need fast-moving water to keep them alive. We recommend that you use a sponge filter for smaller amounts. Larger amounts would require you to use a sump filter. Can you breed black worms? Black worms can breed readily in an aquarium setting. They breed in two ways. The first is asexual where they rub off hard surfaces and ‘break off.’ When they do, the head will grow a tail and the tail a head. The other way they breed is via eggs. However, we have discovered that egg produced by black worms is quite minimal. It should be considered that if you wish to produce live black worms economically you do need readily available water and high-protein food. But ultimately growing black worms is uneconomical for a home hobbyist and we encourage you to consider (to save time) getting it from Nano Tanks. Are black worms harmful to humans? Black worms are not harmful to humans if you touch them. However, if you suffer from dermatitis or other skin conditions it is known that black worms will cause a reaction to your skin. To avoid such contact we advise that you use gloves for this very purpose. Naturally, there are bacteria and other worms, leaf leaches and etc that come with the worms. These are grown naturally with the worms and should not harm humans. As a rule, however, it is advisable that you wash your hands thoroughly with a properly antibacterial agent. How do you send your black worms? When we send these worms, they need to be kept cold with ice. Please be aware of your ambient temperature and that the heat will kill them. We only will send this via Toll Priority/ Australia Post Express Post Service please make sure you select the Live Fish Shipping option GET THIS IN SMALLER QUANTITIES WHEN YOU COME IN STORE PRICES START AT $9 FOR 15ML

Hatchetfish have a slender body with an upturned mouth that is characteristic of true surface dwellers. The common hatchets are among the more uniquely shaped species of fish, and their bodies typically feature deep bellies and pectoral fins set high on the body. Gasteropelecus sternicla prefers a planted aquarium with one or two floating plants. A schooling fish, the Silver Hatchet is best kept in groups of six to eight without any extra space left over for swimming around if they are too crowded then there may be aggression among them and this can lead to death. The Silver Hatchet is an elusive fish. It has been seen in the wild only a handful of times and not much about its breeding habits are known, but one thing that's for sure is it prefers to live in soft water with low pH levels! A good diet of fresh mosquito larvae and fruit flies will trigger spawning by dropping eggs on floating plants.

History This species was originally described as Cynolebias fulminantes but Costa (2007b) placed it in Simpsonichthys. Alternative name(s): Cynolebias fulminantes / Hypsolebias fulminantes, . The type locality of this brilliant coloured species is at Guanambi, Estado da Bahia, Brasil. It was Gilberto Campello Brasil, the co- author of the description, who discovered this fish on the first day of Januari in 1992. Costa et al. named the species after the lightning colours (from latin: Fulmino, fulminantes) in males. He places the species near to S. adornatus and S. hellneri . Reproduction This species seems not to difficult in reproduction and need only some extra attention during the first days as they need very small food as just hatched artemia or infusoria. The way they spawn is, as most annual species do, by diving completely into the substratum. This is best placed in a small jar or drinking glass at the bottom, filled with peat moss from at least the depth of the body length of the fishes. After 5-6 weeks the fishes are capable to produce there first eggs if food was given sufficiently. Max. size 6.0 cm. Dorsal 21.5, Anal 20.8, D/A 2.0, LL scale count (average)27.0 Pre- dorsal length to % SL – 45.3 % Depth to % SL – 33.9 % Ref: https://www.itrainsfishes.net/content/hypsolebias_fulminantis_001.php CREDIT GOES TO FRANZ VERMEULEN!! Sparkling Gourami: A Tropical Fish for your Freshwater Aquarium Overview: Scientific name: Trichopsis pumila Common name: Sparkling gourami, Pygmy Gourami Max. size: 1.6 inches pH range: 6.0 – 7.0 dH range: 5 - 19 Temperature range: 25 – 28°C The Sparkling Gourami is one of the most sought-after species in aquariums, and rightfully so. Unlike other gouramis that can grow to a length of 30 cm (12 inches), this fish typically only grows up to 8cm or 3 inches long. It comes under various names such as Pygmy Gourami, Dwarf Croaking Gourami, Green Croaking Gouriem and PurringGoumi - its scientific name Pumila means small or dwarfish! Sparkling Gourami habitat: The sparkling gourami fish can survive in very tough conditions by breathing the atmospheric air. The small, tropical freshwater species dwells primarily from Indonesia to Vietnam and thrives in thickly planted waters with warm water. The fish feeds on various small insects that fall onto the surface of water or inhabit it. A typical biotop for these creatures is a shallow forest pond with a slow flow; lentic waters are also well-suited to their survival and reproduction. Appearance The sparkling gourami is without a doubt one of the most beautiful fish in existence. With colours and patterns that are so vibrant, it’s hard to not find this little guy fascinating! There is no way you can't love these fish - they are so beautiful and graceful! Their bodies are long, thin, and streamlined. The thickest point on their body that I noticed was right where the ventral fins were located; after this, it tapered down to a caudal peduncle rather aggressively. Aside from being easy to care for because of how sturdy they are against disease or infection (their robust immune system), another thing that makes them such an excellent choice in aquariums is just how stunningly attractive they look when swimming around your tank. They're like little sparkling bullets darting back and forth through water! Gender differences: male vs female Females are easy to identify because they have a rounded belly filled with eggs. This common trait is shared by the Sparkling Gourami and Cinnamon Dwarf Gourami, which makes choosing the right fish in your aquarium difficult. The best way to tell between genders is by looking at their fins: males are longer than females! Feeding The wild Sparkling Gourami are usually happy eaters in captivity, and they have a varied diet from live to frozen food. They typically enjoy tropical flakes with algae flakes foods, Tubifex worms, brine shrimp or snails. Breeding Sparkling Gourami The male gourami builds a bubble nest on the surface of the water. He’ll allow his female partner to come close enough so that they can embrace one another and release their eggs as fertilized embryos into the cluster, for him then to guard over until those fry hatch in around 24-48 hours. The fry remains in the nest until their yolk sac is used up, and once this happens they become free-swimming. Other fish will eat these little guys, but that’s why it's best to breed them in your own aquarium. Sparkling Gourami Tank Mates Sparkling Gouramis are one of the smallest species in their family, and they should be kept with fish that have a similar size. It's not recommended to keep them with very active or aggressive tank mates because these types can end up hurting them due to how fragile they are. The Sparkling gourami is so small it could fit on your thumb - this makes them susceptible to nipping from other more dominant fish who see their fins as food! Male Bettas are not the best neighbours either, because of their similar appearance and penchant for fighting they often get confused and will attack Gouramis. It is best to keep Sparkling Gouramis together or with small non-conflicting fish. For example, you might consider Dwarf and Pearl Gouramis, Rasboras or Neon Rainbowfish. These other breeds of tank mates are very compatible because they’re usually smaller in size than the Sparkle Fish which makes them easier on aquarium gravel, decorations and plants as well! Some good species for this type of environment would be Corydoras catfishes that have a lower aggression level but still help clean up food debris from bottom dwellers like Otos Final thoughts The Sparkling Gourami is a true beauty and idea for the nano or small aquarium enthusiast. These fish are available in your local pet store, but they can also be found online from reputable suppliers who offer them at an affordable price that will make you think twice about their adorableness! The good news is that these little guys are easy to care for so if ever there was a perfect beginner’s tropical fish this would be it! The Sparkling Gourami has won me over with its cuteness and undeniable charm. I love how inexpensive they were when I bought mine because not only does it come as such a nice surprise, but now my wallet doesn't hurt too much either (wink).

The Spotted Raphael Catfish (Agamyxis pectinifrons), a medium-sized species from the Amazon River basin, has been popular among aquarist for at least a decade. It is hardy and generally peaceful for an aquarium fish with attractive markings. They only grow too large for nano tanks, but are excellent in sets up with other fish like cichlids or tetras. This species can be called "Spotted Talking Catfish" due to its ability to croak when removed from water - it's also related to Wood and Banjo catfish families of doradids (family Doradidae). The Spotted Raphael Catfish enjoys company, but it can also live by itself in an aquarium. It is quite reclusive and likes to hide out with other "friends". Multiple specimens will sometimes wedge into the same refuge together. This fish isn't aggressive or territorial, but like most catfish, it will prey on anything smaller than its mouth size- small fish and fry for example! Although this scaleless animal does not have a sensitive skin that requires careful water quality management- nutrients should be added occasionally - if you want to keep your creature healthy.
